Introduction Session on Balvatika 1 (Nursery)
An insightful Introduction Session of Nursery (Balvatika 1) was organized on 28th February 2026 at DAV Public School, Sahibabad, in the gracious presence of Ms Sneh Verma, Training Coordinator (Delhi/NCR DAVCAE); Ms Monika Mehan, Principal DAV Public School, Sahibabad; and Ms Mala Sood, Principal AG DAV Public School, Delhi. The Session brought together teachers and supervisory heads from various DAV schools across Delhi and NCR, demonstrating a collective dedication to enriching foundational learning practices.
The programme commenced with registration and breakfast for the participants, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, setting a positive and inspiring tone for the day.
Ms Monika Mehan welcomed the guests and participants and motivated them to share, learn and create methodologies to enrich the platforms of little learners of Balvatika -1.
Ms. Sneh Verma presented an informative session highlighting the approach of Balvatika 1. Her valuable insights offered clarity on its vision and structure, while emphasising the importance of handling young learners with sensitivity, warmth, and care to create emotionally secure and joyful classrooms.
The session was conducted by Master Trainers of EEDP - Ms Nandita Vaid, Ms Vandana Aggarwal and Ms Sonu Sahni. The programme centred on the Introduction of Balvatika 1. Its vision and implementation strategies were emphasized, providing a clear understanding of experiential learning and the importance of joyful and engaging early childhood practices. Transition and warm-up sessions were also conducted that actively involved the participants while setting a lively tone for the interactive segments of the workshop.
Child-friendly Infrastructure was discussed beautifully with interactive examples. The session also involved strategies to ensure smooth and engaging classroom transitions, equipping teachers with practical ideas for everyday application. A thoughtful session was also taken on the role of family and school, emphasizing the value of collaboration between parents and educators in nurturing a child’s holistic development.
120 Participants from 40 schools were invited to explore the Nursery Classes, thoughtfully curated Outdoor Learning Stations Like Pawsome Park, Learning in the Sun, Hopscotch, Snake and Ladder, Emotion Station, Giggle Play Zone etc. and thematic classroom corners, all designed at DAV Sahibababad, to reflect the experiential learning and essence of Balvatika 1. Teachers from various DAV schools across Delhi and NCR observed the creative setups and gained practical insights into classroom organization, activity planning, and child-centric learning environments. The exploration offered meaningful exposure to innovative ideas that can be effectively incorporated into their own classrooms.
The workshop concluded with an engaging feedback session, followed by a heartfelt Vote of Thanks. The enriching day culminated with a relaxing lunch, providing an opportunity for informal interaction and meaningful exchange among participants.
