Adult literacy workshop

DAV Sahibabad in association with The Rotary Club  organized an adult literacy workshop on 15th of May 2024 in the school premises where teachers of more than 10 schools participated. The workshop began with a welcome address by the school principal Mr. M.K Thakur and was presided by Mr. Pran Mehta, National president of Rotary Club, Mr. Ramesh Chandji , former district governor of Rotary International, Mr. Anil Kakkarji former district governor of Delhi Rotary Club, Mrs. Seema Varshney ji and renowned author Mr. Satya Saurabh Shukla who has also started a national campaign,' Students Against Pollution  The workshop began with the meaning and significance of ,'Namaskaar' where Sh. Pran Mehta ji discussed the essence of Indian culture along with 5 core points of the national level 'TEACH' program initiated by Rotary Club across the country. The seminar included interactive sessions on  how to achieve reading, writing, and basic numeracy among adult illiterates. Volunteers cum participants were also provided insights into the curriculum and the books designed for the same. Attendees expressed gratitude for the opportunity and exhibited their desire to get associated with the cause.  The event showcased the school’s and Rotary Club's commitment to education and community development, highlighting the importance of literacy in empowering individuals and fostering social inclusion.

The program concluded with the reflection of the students personal experience while teaching adults during the program and vote of thanks by the activity coordinator Ms. Kavita Chopra.
