ONE CHILD ONE TREE

To commemorate the 3rd anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, CBSE proposed to undertake a sensitization campaign for schools and students on various environmental concerns.

Under this perspective, a massive tree plantation campaign called ‘CBSE - One Child,

One Plant Campaign’ was held in the secondary wing of DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL, SAHIBABAD.

In order to integrate environmental awareness and sensitivity towards its conservation and sustainable

development, teaching environment education has to be a part of school curricula. In lieu of that, the students exuberantly planted sapling around their houses, nearby parks and road sides. They even pledged to take care of this plant. To take the initiative further, awareness sessions were also conducted in classrooms on how to conserve natural resources and leave smaller carbon footprints.  The students were sensitized to waste less water, shop locally, travel smartly, etc. Their involvement was commendable
